The Police in Kogi State has apprehended a middle-aged man for killing his friend and burying his corpse in his house in Lokoja, the state capital.

The incident happened in Felele, Lokoja where the late Kehinde Ajayi resided with his family.

The accused man, name withheld by the Police, allegedly killed his friend, late Ajayi on Sunday 24th of July 2022.

Sources said Ajayi had recently bought a Toyota Sienna car, and his friend, the alleged killer who is an Air conditioner repairer, called him to come celebrate the new car.

The source informed that the deceased and others then went to an undisclosed place to celebrate but that was the last time he was seen.

When the family of Ajayi reported the missing person to the Police, one of his friends who was a suspect was arrested and he gave useful information about what happened to him.

The source said after killing him, the suspect went away with his car.

It was gathered that on Monday, he took policemen to his own house where he allegedly buried the remains of Ajayi.

However, some angry youths who were around when police recovered the body attacked the house of the suspect after the body was exhumed from the house by the police.

Meanwhile, the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ayah confirmed the incident, noting that the body of late Ajayi has been recovered and an investigation is ongoing to arrest others who might have been involved in the killing.
