Yahaya Bello Assures Tinubu: Governors Committed to Supporting Federal Government's Relief Initiatives

Governor Yahaya Bello, in a meeting with President Bola Tinubu, expressed his assurance that governors would collaborate with the Federal Government in its efforts to provide relief to the Nigerian people.

After their meeting on Friday, Bello emphasized the need for all levels of government to match the successful implementation of the Federal Government’s relief measures following the removal of fuel subsidies.

“We now have a leader who has clearly outlined his economic revival agenda, and he requires our collective support,” Bello stated. “Governors are fully prepared to alleviate the hardships faced by our citizens. We understand their difficulties and trust that they will demonstrate patience during this challenging period, so they can ultimately reap the benefits of the new government’s economic initiatives.”

Bello further affirmed that they would not disappoint the President or the people in this new phase of the country’s economic journey towards a stronger and more resilient nation. “The President has assured us of his commitment to the welfare of the people, and we will complement his efforts,” he added.

Similarly, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia of Benue disclosed that his administration had devised an action plan to restore the state’s former glory after a prolonged period of difficulties.

Alia explained that immediate policies had been formulated to revive both the civil service and the agricultural sector as remedial interventions to invigorate Benue. He assured the people of Benue, as well as all Nigerians, that a new era was dawning upon the state.

“I have already begun working on improving the welfare of civil servants, a step that should ideally not require mention. However, it is a crucial measure considering the current situation,” Alia revealed. “Additional agricultural incentives for farmers are in the pipeline and will be unveiled soon. I aim to restore Benue to its rightful position as Nigeria’s food basket, as the state’s agricultural potential is far more valuable than crude oil,” he concluded.
