Unknown gunmen have abducted Alfa Fasasi Ola Mejabi, an Islamic cleric, and his younger brother in Kogi state.
The incident occurred as they were conveying the corpse of the Chief Imam of Ayegunle Gbede, Sheikh Musa Olorunkemi, from Lokoja to Ayegunle Gbede in Ijumu local government for burial on Sunday.
The abduction took place near Oshokoshoko, along the Lokoja-Obajana-Kabba road. A passenger who managed to escape abduction revealed the incident details.
The kidnappers have reportedly demanded a 10 million Naira ransom for their release, and their phone lines remain unreachable.
Efforts to obtain an official response from the state police command have been unsuccessful.
