Student Reported Missing While Heading to Class at Kogi University

Janet Kyeme, a 200-level student of Library and Information Science at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), who went missing while on her way to attend lectures, has been located in Enugu State.

According to reports, Janet was declared missing by her foster father, school authorities, and security operatives in early March 2024, sparking concerns about her safety.

Family sources revealed that there were fears she had been kidnapped for ritual purposes, as her abductors did not make any ransom demands.

However, it has now emerged that Janet managed to escape from her captors while in a bush in Enugu metropolis.

Pastor Joseph, a friend of Janet’s foster father, shared the news of her escape, expressing gratitude to God during a thanksgiving service.

He explained that Janet wandered in the bush for hours until she reached a settlement where she sought help from a resident to contact her cousin in Enugu.

Her cousin located her, rescued her, and immediately transported her to Jos, Plateau State, where her biological family resides.

It was revealed that security operatives had been tracking Janet’s movements, leading them to Enugu before her escape.

Janet’s safe return has brought relief to her family and the FUL community, highlighting the importance of timely intervention and vigilance in such cases.
