Notorious Kidnapper Accused of Terrorizing Kogi Communities Arrested

Following a coordinated joint security operation in Ofodo village near Igabada, Kogi State, a suspected notorious kidnapper, Abubakar Ali Damina, has been arrested. Damina, 43, hailing from Bida in Niger State, was apprehended with incriminating items including a single-barreled Dane gun, charms, a gun firing cap, and local bullets, further solidifying suspicions of his involvement in criminal activities in the region.

The arrest, a result of concerted efforts by local law enforcement and community security groups, is considered a significant victory in the fight against kidnapping and related crimes in the area. Damina’s alleged confession during interrogation has provided valuable insights into the operations of kidnapping rings within Kogi State.

Mohammed Aminu, the Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Departmental Security Officer, confirmed the successful capture of the kidnapping kingpin, stating that Damina is currently held at the Kogi State Vigilante Service facility in Igalamela-Odolu. Aminu assured that Damina will soon be transferred to appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings.

The arrest of Damina comes as a relief to the local community, which has been plagued by a surge in kidnapping incidents, disrupting peace and security. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing efforts aimed at dismantling criminal networks and ensuring the safety and well-being of residents in affected communities.
