Police Arrest PoS Operator and Housewife for Allegedly Supplying Sex Workers to Bandits

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command has arrested Sunday Musa, also known as Dan Gwari, a Point of Sale (PoS) operator, for allegedly supplying sex workers and distributing money to bandits in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The suspect was paraded at the police command in Abuja on Tuesday.

Benneth Igweh, the commissioner of police in the FCT, stated that Musa was apprehended during a coordinated clearance operation by the anti-kidnap unit at Kagarko. According to Igweh, Musa was also the chief informant and logistics supplier to bandit groups under the command of a fugitive known as Ardo.

The police commissioner revealed that Musa confessed to facilitating the movement of nurses, hard drugs, and sex workers at the request of the bandit groups. Additionally, Musa admitted to being a financial courier, distributing over N20 million on behalf of the bandits to their families.

Igweh further noted that the bandits, led by Ardo, have over 15 members, all armed with AK-47 rifles.

In a related development, the police also arrested Ruqquaya Ibrahim, a 41-year-old housewife, for allegedly supplying foodstuffs and other logistics to the bandits. Ibrahim, a resident of Sabon-Wuse, Niger State, confessed to providing food items to a group led by Shumau, another fugitive.

Ibrahim was apprehended at Gidan-Dogo forest on her way to deliver supplies to the bandits. She subsequently led the police to Shumau’s residence, where 14 rustled cows were recovered.

Both suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.
