Wike disclosed that some informants working for the kidnappers have already been apprehended. He warned potential culprits, stating, “If you know you are an informant or even one of the criminals, the end has come for you.” The minister pledged to collaborate with security agencies to pursue and apprehend criminals to ensure the safety of the residents.

Responding to requests for enhanced police presence, Wike directed the representative of the police commissioner to expedite the process of establishing two more police divisions in Gwagwalada. He emphasized the urgency of the matter, stating, “It is a security matter and must not be bogged down by bureaucratic bottlenecks.”

To bolster the capabilities of law enforcement, the minister announced the allocation of additional vehicles and modern communication gadgets to police stations in the area. He reiterated the President’s commitment to eradicating kidnapping in Abuja and called for the community’s support in providing information to aid security efforts.

Addressing the issue of ransom payments, Wike discouraged residents from crowdfunding for such purposes, emphasizing that it only fuels the activities of kidnappers. He urged the public to cooperate with security agencies and assured that the government is resolute in its mission to tackle insecurity in the FCT.

In conclusion, Minister Wike conveyed a clear message that the government is determined to bring an end to the reign of kidnappers in the FCT and called for the active participation of the community in achieving this goal.
