Buhari Visits Kuje Prison After the Attack, Sympathized With the Officers Injured

Former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomole, has urged Nigerians to hold former President Muhammadu Buhari accountable for the current challenges and high cost of living, rather than pointing fingers at former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu.

Oshiomole emphasized that it was the policies of the Buhari administration that are directly impacting Nigerians today. He highlighted concerns over decisions made during Buhari’s tenure, such as the removal of petrol subsidy, which significantly increased fuel prices and worsened the economic strain on citizens.

During an interview on Channels TV, Senator Oshiomole stressed that Tinubu should not bear responsibility for the actions or decisions of the previous administration. He underscored his allegiance to Nigeria and his criticism of certain policies implemented by Buhari’s government, which he believed were detrimental to the populace.

“I felt that it was not what the then-president promised. I dissociated myself from those policies and I’m happy that I was not the only one. There were governors who approached the court to denounce some of those policies. It is the long-term consequences of those policies that we are still grappling with now,” Oshiomole stated.

Regarding Tinubu’s involvement, Oshiomole clarified that while the All Progressives Congress (APC) was in power during Buhari’s administration, Tinubu was neither a member of the cabinet nor an adviser. He stressed that Tinubu’s absence from governmental positions and lack of involvement in decision-making absolve him from direct responsibility for the outcomes of the administration’s policies.

“Yes, it is our party platform. Like Tinubu also said, he was not a minister or adviser. He never took a contract in that government and he cannot be held responsible for what the government did right or wrong,” Oshiomole reiterated.
