2023: Saraki Seeks Kogi PDP Delegates’ Support, Vows To Complete Ajaokuta Steel Coy

Former President of Nigerian Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has vowed to give priority to the completion of Ajaokuta Steel Company located in Kogi state.

Saraki made this known while fielding questions from newsmen after a meeting with the PDP delegates in Kogi State on Sunday.

He stated that the Ajaokuta Steel Plant, when completed, will boost the nation’s economy and create jobs for the teeming youths.

He said no serious government will neglect such gigantic project.

The Kwara State Governor added that if elected President in 2023, he will harness the abundant solid mineral deposits in Kogi state and across the country to create massive jobs for the youths as a means to tackle insecurity in the country.

Saraki decried the current state of insecurity in Nigeria and pledged that he would deploy technology to combat the current security challenges facing the country.

He said Nigerians are currently going through hunger and agony because the ruling party has woefully failed in fixing the economy, securing lives and properties of citizens and providing necessary infrastructure for the citizens.

Saraki said he has all it takes to become the next president of the nation, stressing that he has the solutions to all the teething problems confronting the nation.

He asked delegates from Kogi state to cast their votes for him as a solidarity for one of their own in the presidential race for the first time since the return of democracy in 1999.

The former Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum said having spent some years in high echelon of governance with distinction, he is aware of the challenges facing the country which made him more prepared among his competitors to preside over the affairs of the nation at this critical time.

Saraki described himself as a bridge between the North and the South, young and old and between Christians and Muslims.

“What our country needs now is unity and I have done excellently well on this in my previous national assignments,” he said.

In their separate remarks, former Governors of Kogi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and Captain Idris Wada, urged the delegates to cast their votes for Dr. Saraki to change ugly narratives of the nation.
