Nasiru Bello, a young and vibrant Nigerian has been awarded the doctor of philosophy in Business Administration at the Escae Benin University in Benin Republic. The professional banker working with Access Bank as a regional Sales Manager, Kano region, was conferred the meritorious award on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021.
The D.Philosophy is awarded by universities and learned bodies to recognize the superior accomplishments of individuals who have distinguished themselves in service to humanity and professional endeavours, sterling contributions and other virtues.
Speaking during the conferment held at the institution’s main auditorium, Benin, the Registrar of Escae Benin, Professor Mathew Mario said the gesture was done in recognition of the awardee’s various contributions to humanity and professional development.
Born in 1974, Mr Nasir, hails from Agassa, Okene LGA in Kogi State. He had his first degree in Business Administration in 1998 from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State. He earned his MBA in 2002 from the Bayero University Kano State and Masters in developmental studies (MDS) also from Bayero University Kano.
Nasiru who is a member of Nigerian Institute of Management NIM,member Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN),Fellow Charted Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM) also bagged a professional certification from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in Kaduna State.
He has over 22 years of banking, business and marketing experience and has held various managerial positions in Unity Bank, the defunct Intercontinental Bank and Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) before joining Access bank where he also held managerial positions across the country, before his current posting as a regional sales manager for Kano.
Dr. Nasiru has received several awards and commendations for his services in the banking sector. He has engaged himself in numerous community developments in his immediate community and beyond, he has been assisting many students to study at different levels of education and has provided employment opportunities for a lot of youths from his constituency, State of residence and all over the country.
The young vibrant banker who believes that evil thrives when good people do nothing, delved into the murky waters of politics when in 2019 ran to represent the good people of Okene/Ogori-Magongo federal constituency as a member of the Federal House of Representatives, though he was denied the ticked for his party the APC and eventually returned back to his banking profession.
In his own words, Dr. Nasiru said: “I feel very honoured and delighted to be recognised by a University that have an outstanding international business and management research pedigree.“This means a lot to me, though it was a shocker when I got the letter but I saw it as a motivation to do more for humanity and to work hard in attaining greater heights”.
